Shoot Seven - Work Record

Inspiration
I got the inspiration from this shoot from Andy Alcala as he uses face paint in all of his work. As I am not very good with face paint I decided I would try and do this on photoshop. I chose to use my nephew as face paint is often associated with children.

What I did
I took normal portraiture photographs of my nephew with a straight face. I then uploaded them and drew on different animal faces using the paint brush tall. I feel this went well however some of the lines and edges were not the best that they could be.

How I would improve
To improve this shoot I would try more complex face painting with more detail and colours to make more interesting  photographs. I would also try and use real face paints on multiple people and include more depth in the photograph like the work of Andy Acala.

My Work
I am pleased with the outcome of this photograph as it has a childish theme to it which I think works really well for what I was trying to achieve. I also think that as this photograph was taken on location the composition and colour works really well. I Really like how the multiple imagery of the same image with a single change works really well and creates continuity throughout the image.

I was once again pleased with the outcome of the photo with regards to lighting and composition however I feel that you can see how the details in this photograph have been added in photoshop. I do think that the portrait photograph itself is nice as the child has eye contact with the camera and the composition places the eyes in the top third of the photograph so fills out the whole square.

What I will do next
What I will do next is look at using real paint or face paint in my work in order to create interesting and creative photography.
