For my unit 4 final portfolio I have decided to do the exam question 'unusual portraiture' as I feel that this will be the most interesting area of exploration and will have the most interesting and fun shoots and edits. During my time looking at this idea of 'unusual portraiture' I will look closely at existing photographers who focus on this area and recreate shoots already done as well as creating my own unique and different shoots. I feel that this subject has a lot of areas not yet explored by other photographers allowing me to create unique and original work.My main reason for choosing this exam subject area is because the majority of shoots will consist of being in the studio photographing people an area in which I enjoy and where I feel I could improve through the progression of this portfolio. From my research so far I have found that there are many different aspects which make up a portraiture photograph and many different ways in order to make the portraiture fit into the unusual category. I will focus on using colours, facial expression, composition, setting, props, editing and costumes to create a difference between every shoot.
Overall I feel that this topic will allow for maximum practice and advance in all areas of photography and editing and will allow me to show all of the development of my work.
