This photograph uses an attractive greeny blue background with the model placed centrally. The composition is just above the waist up and is interesting because of the extreme facial hair of the model. The lighting is very soft and natural. The eyes of the model are in the top third of the photograph and he is making eye contact with the camera whilst pulling a neutral facial expression. This photographs shows the extremity of the facial hair of the man in the photograph.

This photograph uses a black chalky background and has a very negative feel to it. The colouring is quite dark and dull adding to the negativity of the image. The portrait photograph looks as if half of it has been burnt or singed away revealing the skull underneath making a very unique and attractive photograph. This is a clever photograph because it illustrates the inner body of the model, under the skin, something on often shown in a photograph. Once again the model maintains eye contact with the camera giving the audience a direct appeal.

This photograph uses a plain black background with the model placed centrally. The photograph is strange because the prop used placed on the models head is a squid which is very unusual for a portraiture. However the arms up composition of the photo is more normal for a portrait photograph. The purple lipstick used on the model makes her link with the prop used and eye contact is maintained with the camera. The lighting is direct onto the model and creates no shadows and shows the model to have a very pale skin tone and the flaws of her skin have not been edited out nor has the ink from the squid or octopus.

In this image a photograph of the character the mad hatter has been taken and changed so that it has been created entirely with different size and colour circles. I think this works really well against the dark background. The character played by Johnny Depp is easily identified in this image and is very effective and eye catching. The eyes in the image are looking directly at the camera and give the audience a very direct approach as the eyes are almost hypnotic to the audience.

This is an interesting photograph because rather than just a straightforward portraiture photo it tells the audience something about the person in the photograph. The composition is really clever because the ball and the model are placed centrally with the wallpaper and setting as a frame. The eye contact is with the camera/audience yet is also with the model themselves looking at their reflection. The model is fared by the background illustrating his lifestyle to be that shown in the image.

The dark background and facial expression give this photograph a very sad and negative feel as well as the plaster on the little boys head. This challenges the usual positive feel of portraiture as does the side and uncentral composition. This photograph would most likely be taken with the intention of creating awareness of child abuse or something of this kind due to the powerful imagery shown in the photograph and the inclusion of the plaster as if the photographer were aiming to achieve a regular photograph flaws such as this would be removed.

This is a clever photograph because it combines many of the expressions of one person into one picture. The dark lighting and shadows on the face create a kind of eerie feel to the photograph as does the sad expression on the models face. The lack of eye contact creates an uncertain and untrustworthy character however in the Polaroid photographs the eye contact is with the camera. The lighting creates very large shadows on the face of the model allowing the audience a very limited view.

This photograph contains an element of danger because the girl is laying in the middle of the train tracks. The facial expression of the girl is also strange as it is as if she is looking into the distance. This is a very intriguing and questionable photograph which most likely has a deeper meaning. In the photograph juxtaposed next to the girl you can see that the girl is copying the photograph showing this idea that children are very easily influenced.

This photo is a merging of a portrait photograph and a dandelion which works well because they link in texture and colour of the mans hair. The facial expression of the model is quite difficult to read making this an interesting photograph. His eyes are in a squinted shape and have a direct eye contact with the camera making the audience feel directly addressed by the photograph. The orange top worn by the model has connotations of prison which could also be read from the unshaven look of the model.

This is a really clever portraiture photograph because it implies that there are people or emotions living inside our heads trying to get out creating many questions for the audience. The composition of the photograph is clever because it cuts of part of the face but still allows the audience to see his expression through his eyes. The face the photo is off centre also challenges the traditional themes of portraiture but allows the audience to read in the traditional way as the eyes are in the first third of the photograph. To create a less realistic and visually graphic photograph the zip has been put into the photograph and instead of a more realistic representation of the inside of the head a fabric has been used.

This is an interesting photograph because everything about it is typical of a normal portrait photograph including the plain background and smart attire however the facial expression is not the typical happy face that you would expect and instead has a comical feel to it. The photograph also has a very retro and old fashioned feel to it not only due to the black and white colouring but also because of the make up and hair of the model. The eye contact of the camera with the very wide eyes makes the photograph very eye-catching and makes it hard to take your eye off of the photograph.
This photograph works really week because the boys face and body are used as a blank canvas as well as his face being expressionless. The lighting is entirely dark except on the model where it is a kind of bright spot like.

This is a really clever and interesting photograph because the face of the model has been completely covered in white face paint so that the mickey mouse character can be painted on the blank face canvas. The white background and bright lighting also help to create a blank canvas for the face to go on.

This photo is interesting because it shows the model while they are getting ready in a home setting using the camera as a mirror. This gives the photograph a more personal feel as it is as if the audience has been allowed into the life of the model. The lighting of the photograph is quite bright and natural and has a very comical feel to it.

This photograph is interesting because of the location being in a car park. The model is slightly of center but is standard with regards to composition and facial features etc. It seems as if it is a montage photograph where the model has been placed on top of the car park instead of the photograph actually being taken here which is slightly strange for a portraiture photograph.
This photograph is very interesting because it shows the inside of the mans head as if its some sort of complex working with mini people working inside it. The model is placed centrally with the model at a slight angle which is usual of a portraiture photograph however is far more interesting and intriguing.

This photograph uses bright unnatural lighting which almost appears to make the model squint. The facial expression and body language of the model is very aggressive and negative which is unusual of a portraiture which usually have a very formal and plain appearance. This photograph could be said to represent the attitude of the youth of today, this is certainly a view most likely taken from an older audience.

This photograph fits into the category of unusual portraiture due to the unusual prop of the fish, strange location and edited facial features of the child. The colour and lighting used in this photograph are fairly standard. The child's face seems to have been cut and pasted onto the face and doesn't fit properly. The facial expression of the child seems quite out of place and uneasy despite the realistic hair and clothing.

In this photograph the bright and vibrant makeup that seems to be applied in a random fashion creates an interesting portrait. The side view is common in portraiture photography but the black background and lighting make this a very interesting photograph. This would appear to be a photograph taken as a models head shot or for an advertisement of some kind rather than a regular photography portrait.

I really like this photograph due to the really intricate detail on the face and the really unusual facial expression. The close up and lighting also help to make this a very unique yet interesting piece of portraiture photography. This idea of using a strong fan to disfigure the face of the model is very unique and not something I have seen used before.

This is an interesting piece of photography because the skin of the model is so pale yet the photographer has chosen to place her against a white background so she almost blends in. This does however allow the lips, which can be seen through the hand, stand out more than it would against a coloured background.
This is a really strange photograph as firstly it seems that it has not been through any sort of editing process. The composition is also very uneven creating a very unproffestional portraiture photograph. The use of food as eyes is also very unusual and has negative effects on the photograph but implies meaning related to the size and weight of the model.
This is interesting because the composition, background and lighting are all very standard for a portraiture photograph however this is all effected by the chocolate that the model is covered in. The model is shown to be eating her self or the chocolate off of herself which could be indicating that this portrait was taken for advertisement purposes. The models chocolate hair colour creates continuity through the photograph.

I think this is a really clever piece of photograph and editing as it is an optical illusion with the profile and side view being visible in the photograph. The black and white tones add to the individuality of the image. This allows the audience to see multiple views of the mans face in just the one photograph.

This is a really interesting photograph as the gender of the model is unclear which creates many questions for the audience and makes this a slightly controversial photograph. I think it works really well as the line down the middle of the face is the only indication that the sides are different.

This is an interesting piece of photograph because it has a feel of nature and autumn to it. The model photographed is also presented in a very appealing and attractive way making it a generally effective piece of photography. What makes this photograph especially interesting is the fact that the model appears as if part of the background.

This is an effective photograph because the same or similar image is being reflected however the colour has been removed giving both photographs a very different feel but within the one image. Not only is the face of the model shown in the photograph but also the photographer can be seen in the reflection as well as the background where the photograph is being taken giving the photograph a lot of depth.

I think this photograph works really well because of the exaggerated and uncertain facial expression used by the model as well as the purple eye make up and yellow feather eyelashes which are complimentary colours and give the model a sort of bird like appearance.

This photograph is unusual because the main bulk of the photo including setting and lighting are standard however the face of the model is being distorted by the elastic band. This photograph would appear to be quite controversial as the elastic bands on the face would be very dangerous and would give a very bad influence to children.
