Shoot One - Work Record

Inspiration

For this shoot I took influence from this photograph which I found on google. This photograph shows part of one persons face being covered by a photo of another which I think makes for a very interesting photograph and inspired this shoot.

What I did
In this lesson I decided that I would enlarge facial features using cartoon images printed off of the internet. I feel for a first shoot this went well. I got Taylor to hold up a different  mouth to her face and pull a facial expression to match the smile that she is holding. I used a plain white background and quite bright lighting as this was a comedic and positive shoot.

How I would improve
To improve this shoot I would use even more facial features at all different sizes to  create a more diverse shoot. I would also use multiple models in one shoot so that there are more things going on at once. Another thing that could improve or alter this shoot is change the background colour and give the shoot an even more cartoon and less realistic feel.

My Work

I feel that this animation works really well because of the bright colouring and big change between each smile. To improve this photograph/animation I would just try and reduce the amount of movement in the photograph so that the animation is a little bit smoother. I would also make the smileys so that the handle is on the same side to reduce the change in each photo.

I was really pleased with this photograph because it has a really bright and positive feel to it. To improve it however, I would try and keep the background a more similar colour white so that the photo remains consistent. I would also consider using other facial features such as eyes and noses to make the shoot more interesting. Lastly I feel that the curves on the actual mouths could have been made bright to stand out more.

What I will do next
From this shoot I will go on to taking normal portraiture photographs in the studio against a plain background and will then use photoshop to edit the real facial features to be enlarged or smaller to make the photo look interesting and abnormal.
