One way that Ulric Collette chooses to create portraits is by merging the faces of different generations of a family. This works really well and almost tells the story of a family as the younger family member is on the left so it can be read like a book from left to right. Another way in which this photographer works is by having one person but having two facial expressions on the face of the person as this suggests that inside the person is feeling different to the way they are portrayed in a normal portraiture photograph. The photographer maintains a plain cream background throughout her work as this allows the audience to focus entirely on the photography. I really like this photographers style of work because I think it is really unique and cleverly done as the merge in the faces cannot be seen.

This photograph is an example of a generation photograph and it is assumes that this is a girl and her father as the face do not seem entirely odd. This is a really attractive photo because it differs greatly from work of other portraiture photographers. Because the people in the photographs are related this gives the photo a sort of continuity as the eye and mouth have a similar shape so doesn't look massively different.
This photograph is an example of Ulric's work showing how people may look one way in a photograph but inside feel an entirely different way. This photograph works really well because of the girls tattoos are on the same side as the face where she is shouting or screaming so gives the photo a whole different and more wild feel. The slit in the face can not be seen which makes this a very unusual and mysterious photograph with once again differs greatly to other photographers work.
This photograph once again promotes this idea that inside everyone there is someone else trying to get out. In this cace the face is smaller and coming out f the neck of the model which creates many questions for the audience and a very interesting photograph. The lighting and background in this photograph is a little bit random and dirty however this only adds to the intrigue of the photograph because its suggests that not everyone/thing is perfect.
Once again this photograph shows two generations of a family, which, it can be assumed are father and son. This is a really cleaver photograph because it really shows the similarities of each and shows once again like a book what the boy will grow up to look like. What I really like about this photograph is that the on and father have different colour eyes as it shows a difference between them.
This photographers work will most definitely influence my work especially with regards to merging different peoples faces. I also like the way in which trapped emotions and feelings are shown in this photographers work. I will also remember to care less about the background during my time shooting portraiture as is the composition and person being photographed that is really important.
Overall I really like this photographers work I think it ha a lot of meaning as well as being very unique, clever and interesting.
